A crapfic is a poorly written fanfic. And by poorly, I mean HORRIBLY. Whether it's self insert Mary Sues, lack of canon logic/ canon defying(looking at you, Tenth Walker Sues), appalling grammar or just really gruesome, crapfics are bad. But entertaining to read at the same time. In fact, some have become famous in their fandoms. If you're part of the Harry Potter fandom for example, you may have heard of My Immortal(which Ember and I happen to be parodying right now).

Gruesome? What an understatement. They sometimes have HEAPS of terribly described...uhh...scenes.

If you want to protect yourself, then only read the first chapter of a fanfic. Usually - USUALLY - it's enough to warn you. However, sometimes the first chapter gets - um - right into the 'story'.

You'll find some tame ones on the Mary Sue thread. It's best to start off with the ones like My Immortal or Legolas By Laura before you go to the other ones because those two are a walk in the park compared to many others. And stay away from the one with Lucius and Draco Malfoy.

I swear you're one of the only girls I've talked to who feels the way I do about him. The book version was better even though I had no idea what he was saying half the time. In the movie he is like Captain Obvious II.
