(This is based off the actual book, so I don't own the actual idea for this)
The year is 2061, and you're an orphan, one in a group of many that were adopted by the man that perfected time travel - and kept it quiet. The small group of orphans who were also “adopted” by the man you know only as 'Uncle' used to feel like family, but both the competition to be the top time snatcher and the punishment for failure have gotten fierce. Time traveling to steal priceless objects can be a thrill, but everything is harder now. Escape is one option, but there is no place on earth, past or present, that is safe from Uncle’s tentacles, and runaways get the harshest punishment of all.
In the past, you were treated like actual children, with your own worries and concerns but always somebody there to console you. Now, it simply isn't the same. There are no more fun trips or activities - it's just time travelling, every time. And, the 'business' that Uncle runs, selling historical items is all he cares about. Not you, not anymore. The 'snatches' of famous objects are now missions, with harsh punishments if you fail.
Now, here comes the rules...
1. Your character must not be a Mary Sue, and your character cannot have any special powers etc. Remember, this is the year 2061, and you must be easily identified in some way, so there will be one thing that may look a little bit Sue-ish, and that's your character's eyes. Just for identification, in this roleplay you will have a unique eye colour due to the fact that your eyes have been altered so that when a certain 'scanning light' is shone onto them, it can detect exactly who you are. But remember, you are the only people with this physical feature. If you need help finding flaws, here is a list that I stumbled on, you can choose from that: www.darkworldrpg.com/lore/flaws.php (don't mind the rest of the website) And, by the way, your character only has a first name, and usually you wear just one outfit - there isn't much choice, really,a no you can't keep up with fashion. Choose that one outfit carefully because that's the one your character will be seen in most of the time.
2. You do not know your past at all, except maybe a very blurry memory of better times with Uncle. If you choose to reflect on this, make sure that it isn't saying that 'oh, I remember every little detail', but just a general image.
3. The 'Timeless Treasures' (which will be the name of the 'business') headquarters are in a fairly innocent looking tall 7-story building, which is fairly 'old' without much of what would be considered 'state-of-the-art equipment and technology'. Floor 1: Reception area. Floor 2: the 'shop' part of it (yes, the shop and the headquarters are in the same building) . Floor 3: Kitchen and Dining place (remember you live here...). Floor 4: Time travelling device (extremely large, takes up full floor). Floor 5: Living quarters. Floor 6: More living quarters. Floor 7: Uncle's private apartment area and office. You are not allowed into the shop area or reception, and there are two elevators that go up and down.
4. I will plan the punishments etc, so please PM me about them.
5. During a 'snatch', you have a partner. Just to let you know, one thing about your character: it may be better to just have female characters, I'd rather not have a really stupid love triangle develop, and besides, I think it's a little difficult to develop and keep up with. Tell me who you'd like to be your partner, I'll see if its okay. If there are an odd number of people, there will be a group of three. Besides, in this roleplay I'll just make it that everyone is only 13...and an all female group is ok!
6. I'll do most of Uncle's talking, PM me with ideas if you want. This is NOT like the SHINE roleplay, each 'mission' is separate.
7. Your character has one enhanced skill, and one thing that they are bad at, like in Misha's roleplay, just to keep things balanced. That skill must be relevant, and the thing you're bad it can be fairly minor but it cannot be to do with being fit or anything, as imagine going on a really risky mission that way...besides, you are sort of trained for it.
8. You can pick what your character wears on normal days, but on missions they must fit the time period.
